Sandra Bernhard To Appear at Trinity Cathedral April 30 For a Cabaret Evening
A Brilliant Blend of Bernhard’s Unique Brand of Comedy and Music
“Ms. Bernhard remains a fascinating, charismatic entertainer” – New York Times
CLEVELAND (February 29, 2016) –Cathedral Concerts, recognized by the Cleveland Plain Dealer as “one of the most unusual (and diverse) endeavors to hit the city in some time,” is proud to present actress/comedienne/singer Sandra Bernhard and her all new show “Feel The Bernhard” at the gorgeous Trinity Cathedral on Saturday, April 30 at 8:00 p.m.
“Feel the Bernhard” is Sandra Bernhard’s latest show, which she debuted at Joe’s Pub in New York City for six sold-out nights. As The New Yorker wrote “Sandra Bernhard teaches the children—all those burgeoning spoken-word artists and monologists—how to perform observational comedy with style, and right on the political edge.”
Following the string of sold-out shows in New York, Broadway World wrote "She will set the place afire with her white-hot intelligence. She is authentic, unapologetically angry, heartbroken, and of course, hilarious."
While, Theater Mania said, "Bernhard knows what her audience wants, and she has them eating out of the palm of her hand from the second she walks onstage. There's no greater joy than watching a masterful comedian feed off her crowd and give it right back to them in the form of an evening that's as hilarious as it is truthful."
Bernhard recently launched her own hugely popular daily show Sandyland on SiriusXM Radio’s new Radio Andy channel (102) headed up by Andy Cohen. Her strong opinions and unique perspective, along with her provocative, spontaneous conversations with a wide spectrum of guests from the worlds of entertainment and fashion have made Sandyland so successful.
Looking forward to her one glorious evening at Trinity Cathedral, Bernhard said, “The Midwest is in my blood. The automobile, the rubber meeting the road, the sound of the factories pumping out the American dream.” Born in Flint, Michigan, she recalls “the dark winters, the freedom of summer and those early friendships that last a lifetime.”
“I saw my good friend Belinda Carlisle over the holidays and she told me about this beautiful cathedral in Cleveland” said Bernhard. “I knew Belinda was playing there in early April and decided this was where I wanted to perform when in Cleveland. I couldn’t be more excited.”
It has been more than a decade since Bernhard last performed in Cleveland. She now brings her all-new show “Feel the Bernhard” to Cleveland, with her band The Flaming Zircons, for this very intimate performance. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. ET this Friday, March 4. General seating tickets are priced at $47.50 and VIP seating is $65.00. Additionally, there are very limited VIP seats that come complete with a Sandra Bernhard Meet & Greet priced at $125.00. All tickets can be purchased at www.ticketweb.com, www.ticketmaster.com or at the Cathedral Concerts box office (located at 23400 Mercantile Road, Suite #10, Beachwood, Ohio 44122). “Sandra Bernhard will raise the bar for Cathedral Concerts,” stated Denny Young, Elevation Group President and Cathedral Concerts’ executive producer. “The success of her cabaret show around the country, will translate well in the Cathedral and it will provide Clevelanders a taste of the kind of diverse programming we promised when we created Cathedral Concerts.”
Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the concert is set to begin at 8:00 p.m. There will be two sets, an intermission and no opening act.
